After having the lunch, we continue our tour to the Albanian Capital Tirana. You will visit Skanderbeg square, situated in the very heart of Tirana. we visit Ethem Bey mosque which was founded at the end of 18th century by Mulla Bey, the Clock Tower -a cultural monument that has shown the time in Tirana since 1822.
The tour continues to National History museum, one of the most important museums in the country, contains a well-documented history of the country. After that we visit Tirana castle and The Tanners’ Bridge -an 18th century Ottoman stone footbridge. Then we walk to the pyramid, it is absolutely an important tourist attraction. As a symbol of a notorious communism, a symbol of the mixed and contradictory history of Tirana. It was inaugurated on October 14, 1988, as the mausoleum of the dictator, Enver Hoxha.
After that we continue our walking tour to the Postblloku (Checkpoint), the Memorial to Communist Isolation, commemorates the country’s political prisoners who suffered under the Hoxha regime. It is situated on the main boulevard opposite the government building. After that we will have a coffee break in Blloku quarter. Then you be transferred back to your hotel/ Cruise in Durres.
