A 5 days trip to the north and central regions of Albania to visit the monuments and landmarks in different cities. this tour will take you to Tirana, Kruja, Shkodra, Durres and Berat .
We will start our tour by visiting Tirana-the capital and largest city of the Republic of Albania,Tirana has become the most modern city in the Balkans, you will get impressed by the painted buildings and the relaxed atmosphere in cafes and restaurants. After exploring Tirana we will visit the following cities:
Kruja i one of the most visited cities in Albania, Kruja is Rich in history, culture, and artisanal work. The name and the importance of the city are attributed to the national hero of Albania, George Skanderbeg, who made Kruja a fortress of resistance against the Turkish Ottoman empire for more than 25 years.
Shkodra is not only one of the oldest towns in Albania, but one of the oldest in Europe as it was founded by the Illyrians in the 3rd Century BC. Its unique geographical location made it perfectly positioned to become an important trading town in the past and its tradition of religious (and ethnic) tolerance still visibly apparent in the center with mosques, a Catholic Church, and Orthodox Cathedral all within a stone’s throw. You will be amazed by Shkodra’s pleasant atmosphere especially the Old Town, where all the façades were fresh, elegant, and predictably colorful.
Durrës is the second largest city of Albania located on the central Albanian coast, about 33 km (21 mi) west of the capital Tirana. It is one of the most ancient and economically significant cities of Albania. Durresi was founded in the 7th century BC by Greek colonists from Corinth and Corcyra under the name Epidamnos, it has been continuously inhabited for 2,700 years and is one of the oldest cities in Albania. The city hosts the Durrës Ancient City Wall called also Durrës Castle while the largest amphitheater in the Balkans .
Berat is the pride of the Albanian Architecture, it has been existed more than 2400 years ago. Berat designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2008. This beautiful town forms amazing combination of eastern and western cultures, traditions and customs. The town is still renowned for its historic architecture and scenic beauty and is known as the “Town of a Thousand Windows”.

Today we will explore the the Albanian Capital. During this tour we will visit the national museum of history, Skanerbeg Square, Clock Tower, Ethem Bej Mosque, the Pyramid of Tirana, the former Blloku Quarter, Lunch (Optional lunch,approximately 10-15 euro pp). Visit the well known bunkart 2 and Dajti mountain by cable car. then back to you hotel. (Overnight in Tirana)
Early morning we will depart for Kruja (45 min drive) where will visit the castle of Kruja, Skenderbeg museum, ethnographic museum and the old bazaar. followed by optional lunch in Mrizi i Zanave traditional restaurant in Fishta village. After the lunch we will move towards Shkodra where we will visit Rozafa Castle, Shkodra Lake, Abu Baker Mosque, Catholic, Orthodox Church and the promenade.Then drive back to Tirana ( Overnight in Tirana).
This morning we depart for Durres, the second biggest city in Albania (40 km drive), we will stop by the amphitheater, Castle and the Archaeological museum.After exploring Durres, we drive towards Berat( UNESCO Site) we will visit the old Castle of Berat, Onufri Icon Gallery, the ethnographic museum, Mangalem and Gorica quarter. Back to your Hotel in Tirana (Overnight in Tirana).
