Location & Setting
Cheval Blanc Seychelles is located on Mahé Island, on the southwest coast, at Anse Intendance beach. The natural setting is dramatic: powder-white sand, turquoise Indian Ocean, steep hillsides with dense jungle and granite boulders. The property spans about 22 hectares, which allows for both beachfront villas and hillside villas nestled in the vegetation.
Villas & Accommodation
There are 52 villas in total. They are designed by the noted architect Jean-Michel Gathy and reflect a weaving together of Creole traditions with modern, luxurious design.
Some of the types of villas include:
• Beach Villas (1-bedroom) right in front of the sand, with private pools and terraces.
• Two-bedroom Beach Villas (for families or small groups), also beachfront.
• Hillside villas and “Panorama” villas perched on hillsides, offering expansive views over the bay and ocean.
• Villa Horizon is among the most exclusive: a two-bedroom villa on stilts over iconic granite formations, offering very high privacy and sunset views.
All villas have private pools, generous indoor and outdoor spaces, luxury bathrooms, and are arranged so as to maximize views and privacy.
Dining & Gastronomy
Cheval Blanc Seychelles features multiple world-class restaurants, each with its own style:
• Le 1947: the flagship French fine dining venue.
• Mizumi: a contemporary Japanese restaurant by a lake-like water feature.
• Vivamento: Italian-inspired dining pool-side.
• Le White: cosmopolitan, all-day dining with local influences.
• Sula: beach club / casual setting overlooking the sea.
Service is highly personalised; each villa is served by a dedicated Majordome who attends to details, preferences, and memorable touches.
Wellness & Activities
• Spa Cheval Blanc by Guerlain is central to the experience, set in lush surroundings, offering treatments inspired by local nature, with several treatment rooms, relaxation areas, yoga/meditation.
• Pools include a 25-metre pool, beach-side pool, infinity pools with views.
• Activities include marine adventures (snorkelling, exploring reefs, boating), hiking in jungle trails, tennis, padel courts, and a surf simulator.
• For families: “Le Carrousel” is the kids’ club with indoor/outdoor areas, splash pad, playground, etc.
Design, Atmosphere & Unique Features
• The architecture is modern, clean, fluid, yet integrates local Creole character: vaults, pitched roofs, natural textures, woods, stone, and generous glass to connect with nature.
• Privacy and exclusivity are key themes, hillside villas are hidden among vegetation, the beach villas are private, and overall the resort layout aims to give guests both views and seclusion.
• Art plays a part: curated artworks, living gallery aspects, and subtle design touches that reflect local culture and creativity.
