Location & Atmosphere
LUX* Grand Gaube is a 5-star luxury resort located on the north coast of Mauritius, in a small fishing village called Grand Gaube. It sits on a peninsula between tranquil lagoons and two quiet beaches. The geography gives it seclusion and beautiful views: turquoise waters, offshore islets, tropical greenery, and calm bays that make the setting feel intimate yet expansive.
The design is retro-chic with tropical flair. Interiors by designer Kelly Hoppen combine elegance and comfort. Furnishings, décor, lighting and color choices are meant to feel stylish but warm and relaxed. Outdoor gardens, banyan trees, filao trees, lush vegetation all blend into the architecture so nature always feels very present.
Rooms, Suites & Villas
• All rooms/facilities are sea-facing or lagoon-facing, maximizing view and exposure to ocean or water.
• Room types include: Superior Rooms (~51 m²), Wellness Junior Suites, Junior Suites, Ocean Junior Suites, Prestige Junior Suites, Family Suites, larger suites, and villas including a “Villa LUX*” (~300 m²) with private pool and full butler service.
• Features in many rooms or suites include: private terraces or balconies, outdoor bathtubs or outdoor-showers, rainfall showers, twin vanities, mood lighting, and indoor-outdoor flow.
Dining, Bars & Culinary Highlights

• The main restaurant (The Palm Court) features live-cooking stations and interactive food experiences. There’s also Café LUX* with artisan-style coffees and treats.
• Several bars around property: beach bars, lounges, cocktail bars, including spots meant for relaxation and sunset views. There is also an adult-only area (“The Banyan”) for more peace and calm.
Wellness, Leisure & Activities
• Wellness is central: large spa (LUX* Me Spa), fitness center, indoor/outdoor wellness/meditation areas, yoga, tai chi, pilates, etc.
• Pools: multiple pools, including ones exclusive to adults, family pools, pools with views of the lagoon or ocean.
• Water sports are plentiful: snorkeling, kayaking, paddle boarding, stand-up paddle, glass-bottom boat excursions, mini sail, etc. Many complimentary or included.
• Land sports & leisure: tennis (courts, academy), padel, gym, excursions, nature walks, possibility of golf nearby (Mont Choisy Golf Club). For kids and teens, there are youth-clubs & activities.
Design & Experience Character
• Retro-chic meets barefoot luxury: the resort aims to balance style and ease, so it feels luxurious without being overly formal. Interiors mix modern elements (clean lines, mood lighting, quality furnishings) with local character and natural elements.
• There is an “adults-only” section for guests seeking quieter retreats. The Banyan area delivers that ambiance.
• The landscaping and layout are designed to make you feel connected to nature: gardens, lagoons, beaches, ocean, sound of water, breezes, views of offshore islets.
Why It Stands Out
• Exceptional variety for a resort of its size: many room types, plus villas, plus adult zones, plus family zones.
• Strong food & drink experience, which is often highlighted by guests.
• Beautiful natural setting, with calm waters, lagoon, two beaches, and lush greenery.
• Good balance between excitement (activities, dining, design) and peace (spa, adult-only spaces, nature).
