Quick answer: This is a 3-night, 4-day guided trip through Theth and Valbonë National Parks in Albania's Accursed Mountains, combining the Blue Eye of Theth and its natural pools, a hike over the Valbona Pass, the Grunas Waterfall and Canyon, and a scenic boat ride across Koman Lake all from €590 per person for groups of 8 or more (flights and the final Tirana hotel night booked separately). The trip runs on fixed departure dates from 15 May to 15 November 2026.
The Albanian Alps are still one of the least-crowded mountain ranges in Europe, and this trip is built around the two national parks that show them off best: Theth and Valbonë. Rather than rushing between sights, the itinerary is paced around two real hiking days a full day exploring Theth's waterfalls and natural pools, and a longer crossing over the Valbona Pass bookended by the historic city of Shkoder and a boat ride across Koman Lake on the way back to Tirana.
It's built for families, friends, hiking enthusiasts, and “Sunday hikers” alike: the trails are well-maintained and guided throughout, but the Valbona Pass crossing is a full eight-hour day, so a reasonable level of fitness helps.

Your adventure begins with a scenic drive from Tirana to Shkoder. Along the way, visit Rozafa Fortress, perched on a hill overlooking the city, where you can enjoy beautiful views of Shkoder and the surrounding area while learning about its history and legends. Next, stop for coffee in Shiroke, a peaceful town on the shores of Lake Shkoder. After a relaxing break, continue towards Theth, with scenic stops in the mountain village of Boge and at Thore Pass, where you can admire the views and take memorable photographs. Upon arrival in Theth, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant with spectacular mountain views. Afterward, check into your guesthouse and take some time to relax. In the afternoon, explore Theth with a local guide. The visit includes the Reconciliation Tower, a four-century-old structure of great cultural importance, and the approximately 100-year-old church, one of the village's most important heritage landmarks. The evening ends with a traditional dinner accompanied by local Raki. For travelers looking for a more active experience, there is also the option of an early departure to explore some of the area's hiking trails, including Valbona Pass, Peja Pass, or Denhell.
Spend a full day immersed in the natural beauty of Theth National Park, where a leisurely hike awaits you. As you set out, breathe in the fresh mountain air and take in the breathtaking scenery that surrounds you craggy peaks, lush green valleys, and vibrant wildflowers. Your first stop is the stunning Grunas Waterfall, a hidden gem nestled within the park. Marvel at the sight of water cascading down the rocky cliffs, creating a mesmerizing display of nature's power and beauty. Listen to the soothing sounds of the waterfall as you take a moment to relax and appreciate the tranquility of the area. Continue your hike to the Canyon of Grunas, a picturesque gorge carved by the forces of nature. The dramatic rock formations and sheer cliffs provide a stunning backdrop as you walk along the trails, allowing you to connect with the raw beauty of the Albanian Alps. After a rewarding morning of hiking, arrive at the Natural Pools and the Blue Eye of Theth, two breathtaking spots that invite you to take a refreshing dip. These crystal-clear pools, fed by natural springs, are the perfect place to cool off after your hike. Enjoy the invigorating sensation of the cool water as you swim, surrounded by stunning mountain vistas. Once you’ve had your fill of swimming, settle down for a delightful picnic lunch by the pools. Relish the flavors of local delicacies as you dine amidst nature, soaking in the beauty and serenity that surrounds you. After a day filled with exploration and relaxation, you’ll return to your guesthouse via local transportation. As you journey back, reflect on the stunning landscapes and unforgettable experiences of the day, and savor the memories of your adventure in Theth National Park.

Upon arrival in Valbona, you'll have time to relax and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the valley.
