Tomorrowland Winter 2027

Tomorrowland Winter 2027

Alpe d’Huez, French Alps, France 20 to 27 March 2027

The 7th Edition of the World’s Greatest Mountain Music Festival

Some festivals happen in fields. Tomorrowland Winter happens on a mountain at 3,330 metres above sea level and the difference, as anyone who has been will tell you, is everything. For eight extraordinary days in March 2027, the iconic Alpe d’Huez ski resort in the Isère department of the French Alps will once again be transformed into something the world has no other word for: the ultimate fusion of a high-altitude ski holiday and the most spectacular electronic music festival on the planet.

This is not a festival that happens to be held near a ski resort. The mountain is the venue. The slopes are the corridors between stages. The summit is where one of the stages actually sits. Tomorrowland Winter 2027 is the seventh edition of an event that has sold out every year since its debut, climbed to number 42 in the DJ Mag Top 100 Festivals poll, and drawn over 30,000 people from more than 75 countries to the French Alps every March. If you have been thinking about going, 2027 is the year.

The Mountain: Alpe d’Huez, Isère, France

Alpe d’Huez is not simply the backdrop for Tomorrowland Winter. It is the reason Tomorrowland Winter exists in its current form. Located at 1,860 metres above sea level in the Oisans valley of the Isère department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region of southeastern France, it is one of the largest and most consistently snow-reliable ski resorts in the French Alps, with 250 kilometres of marked pistes across the Grandes Rousses massif, descending from a summit altitude of 3,330 metres at the Pic Blanc.

March is when Alpe d’Huez is at its finest: the days are long, the light is warm and horizontal across the snowfields, the lifts run to full capacity, and the late-season snow is firm and fast without being icy. Among the resort’s 86 marked runs is La Sarenne, widely cited as the longest black run in Europe at 16 kilometres of continuous descent from the Pic Blanc to the valley floor — a run that, in the right conditions, is among the most memorable pieces of skiing terrain on the continent. There are also extensive green and blue areas on the plateau above the village, making the resort equally accessible to beginners and first-time skiers who are primarily there for the music.

The resort village itself compact, pedestrian-friendly, and built into the hillside above the valley is entirely walkable between the ski lift base stations, the festival stages, the restaurants, and the accommodation. This is what makes the format work: you are never more than a short walk from the mountain, the music, or your bed. That proximity is not accidental. It is why Alpe d’Huez was chosen from all the resorts in the French Alps as the permanent home of Tomorrowland Winter.

The Festival: Eight Stages Across the Mountain

As the afternoon light turns golden and the ski lifts slow to a close, Alpe d’Huez shifts entirely. The mountain does not go quiet it ignites. Eight individually designed stages, spread across the resort village and the mountain slopes themselves, form the festival infrastructure of Tomorrowland Winter 2027, each one bearing the distinctive visual identity and production quality that has made Tomorrowland’s event design the most referenced in the festival industry worldwide.

For the 2027 edition, more than 150 international artists from across every genre of electronic music are expected to perform across the eight days. The full lineup has not yet been announced, but past editions at Alpe d’Huez have featured artists including Charlotte de Witte, Martin Garrix, Afrojack, Lost Frequencies, Nina Kraviz, Alok, Steve Aoki, Axwell, Kölsch, Miss Monique, Nervo, Meduza, and many more. Sets run from mid-afternoon through to the early hours, structured around the ski day so that nothing forces a choice between the slopes and the music.

The Eight Stages of Tomorrowland Winter 2027

Stage

Character & Location

MainStage

The heart of the festival a fully enclosed, heated arena in the resort village with Tomorrowland’s signature theatrical stage design and the week’s biggest headline performances.

Frozen Lotus

An open-air stage with a visual identity built around the contrast of fire and ice, typically hosting deeper, more atmospheric electronic music sets in a setting that makes the mountain landscape part of the performance.

Orbyz

Debuted in 2026 at 2,100 metres altitude one of the highest stage positions in the festival circuit. Accessible on skis or snowboard and by dedicated lift, the Orbyz stage hosts peak-time artists against an unobstructed mountain panorama.

Reflection of Love

An intimate, design-led stage known for its reflective visual concept and programming that tends toward melodic and progressive electronic music, positioned in a sheltered section of the resort.

CORE

An underground-style stage with a raw industrial aesthetic, dedicated to harder and more intense electronic music genres techno, hard techno, and driving house. One of the most consistent crowd-pullers of the week.

Cage

A mid-size stage with a versatile programme, covering a broad range of electronic music styles and often used for emerging artists alongside established names.

Moose Bar

The après-ski stage an outdoor, village-level venue where the ski day transitions naturally into the festival evening. Relaxed in atmosphere, broad in programming, and the starting point for most people’s festival nights.

Summit Stage

Positioned at 3,330 metres on the Pic Blanc, this is the highest music stage at Tomorrowland Winter and one of the most dramatic performance venues anywhere in the world. Accessible by gondola and cable car, with performances typically scheduled during the ski day.

The Full Alpine Experience

Tomorrowland Winter 2027 is built around the understanding that a week in the mountains is about more than skiing and music, and the programme reflects that. Between the runs and the sets, the festival curates a broader programme of alpine experiences that turn a music trip into a complete winter holiday.

On the Mountain

•        Skiing and snowboarding across 250 km of Alpe d’Huez’s Grandes Rousses ski area, from beginner green runs on the plateau to the 16 km La Sarenne black run from the Pic Blanc

•        Paragliding above the Oisans valley, with take-off points offering views across the entire ski area and the surrounding French Alps

•        Snowmobile excursions on dedicated off-piste tracks above the resort

•        Dogsledding across the snowfields above Alpe d’Huez

•        An outdoor ice rink in the resort village

•        The Alpine Coaster a year-round mountain luge track that runs alongside the ski slopes

Food & Gastronomy

Mountain food at Tomorrowland Winter is not festival food. The event integrates the culinary traditions of the French Alps and Belgium Tomorrowland’s home country into the week’s programme, with mountain restaurants serving traditional raclette, cheese fondue, charcuterie, and tartiflette alongside Belgian classics and international options from the resort’s wider restaurant scene. Several of the festival’s food experiences are positioned at altitude, combining a meal with one of the most remarkable dining views in Europe.

Streaming & Live Radio

From mid-week onward, Tomorrowland Winter 2027 will broadcast live and on-demand via the Tomorrowland app and One World Radio, allowing those watching from home to follow the full festival programme. For attendees, One World Radio streams continuously from the resort throughout the week, keeping the music running between stages and during ski runs.

Why Tomorrowland Winter 2027 Is the One to Go To

Every edition of Tomorrowland Winter has been larger and more ambitious than the one before. The 2026 edition introduced a brand-new Mainstage and debuted the Orbyz stage at 2,100 metres, bringing the total number of stages to eight and expanding the daily programme significantly. The 2027 edition the seventh, and expected to be the largest yet will build on that foundation with a lineup of over 150 artists, continued expansion of the alpine activity programme, and the refinement of an event format that has now had six editions to perfect itself.

Tickets and packages for Tomorrowland Winter sell out in advance every year without exception. Pre-registration for 2027 packages is open now. There is no edition of this festival where it makes sense to wait.
